An LVN or Licensed Vocational Nurse provides
routine patient care and is licensed by the state in which
they practice. LVN is often synonymous with LPN or Licensed
Practical Nurse, and the term used varies from state to state.
An LVN provides many of the same services provided by Registered
Nurses or RNs including working at long-term care facilities,
hospitals or doctor's offices.
Obtaining an LVN degree from an LVN School or
LVN Colleges usually consists of 1 to 2 years of training
classes in physiology, anatomy and patient care. Registered
Nurses usually atted 4 year school programs.
