An LPN or Licensed Practical Nurse provides
routine patient care and is licensed by the state in which
they practice. LPN is often synonymous with LVN or Licensed
Vocational Nurse, and the term used varies from state to state.
An LPN provides many of the same services provided by Registered
Nurses or RNs including working at long-term care facilities,
hospitals or doctor's offices.
Obtaining an LPN degree from an LPN School or
LPN Colleges usually consists of 1 to 2 years of training
classes in physiology, anatomy and patient care. Registered
Nurses usually atted 4 year school programs.
